The Desjoyaux JD Sel Sea is a salt electrolysis water treatment system and must work at least six hours daily to upkeep the pool. The salt system will cut down the chemical usage and cleaning process.
Salt chlorinated pools do have chlorine, but the chlorine level is lower than a traditional chlorinated pool. The existence of salt helps to reduce the chemical effect to the skin and pool and it kills chloramines faster. Chloramines are chemical compounds that build up in pool water when it is improperly treated. Chloramines result from the combination of two ingredients: (a) chlorine disinfectants and (b) perspiration, oils and urine that enter pools from swimmers. Chloramines are responsible for the “chlorine smell” of pools and chloramines can cause skin and eye irritations.
Electrolysis works by adding a small amount of salt to the water in the pool (4g/litre). After the water is filtered, it is then treated by electrolysis, which converts the salt into a powerful sterilising agent, killing off all algae and bacteria and oxidising any organic residues. In spite of the combined effects of swimmers and sunshine, the salt remains in the water and allows the disinfecting process to be constantly renewed.
The benefits of Desjoyaux JD Sel Sea are:
- Easy start up;
- Consistent water quality and unrivalled comfort (No more unpleasant smells and red sore eyes whilst swimming);
- Highly-automated for ease of operation and low maintenance. (For example, an easily-run self-test lets you check the electrolyser’s main functions in only a few seconds.);
- Reduced operating costs;
- Continuous disinfection of pool water in step with filtration;
- Automatic cover function which automatically reduces the amount of chlorine produced when the pool is covered; and
- Minimum maintenance – just add salt once per session.
JD Sel Sea is made in FRANCE and is guaranteed for three years (electronic parts and cell).
